SIR update in MP: 5.76 crore forms submitted, 25 lakh names may be canceled
Big news has come out regarding SIR in Madhya Pradesh. If sources are to be believed, after Special Intensive Revision (SIR), names of 25 lakh voters may be removed from the draft voter list. It is being told that a total of 5.76 crore forms have been submitted in the state in the SIR process. The draft list can be released on 23 December.
Out of total 5.76 crore enumeration papers, 9 lakh have not given information for the year 2003. Whereas, 8.5 lakh voters are no more in this world. Apart from this, 2.5 lakh voters were found whose names are registered at two places.
Notice will be issued to them in MP SIR process
Scrutiny of the form has found that there are about 12 lakh people who have left the enumeration form incomplete. Notice will be issued to them. Let us tell you, SIR work in Madhya Pradesh was completed by 18 December. Earlier, due to the work not being completed on time, the date was also extended, so that more and more people could get a chance to join the voter list.
The BLO contacted the voters who had filled the forms incompletely. Due to this, thousands of forms were corrected and completed. The BLO had contacted the voters on the instructions of senior officials.
Objection can be lodged if name is not available
After the release of the draft voter list on December 23, the process of applications related to claims and objections will also start. However, people who have names at two places can be voters at their official address only. No relaxation will be given in this, because the presence of the same voter at two places raises questions on the transparency of the election.
Pledge to make elections transparent
The Election Commission claims that the purpose of voter list revision is to make every upcoming election transparent, so that all future elections can be conducted properly.
