Sukhoi-30MKI and Jaguar fighter planes will thunder near Karachi port

New Delhi. India is going to land its most modern fighter jets Sukhoi-30 MKI and Jaguar from Karachi port in Pakistan on Wednesday. These aircraft are going to start a large-scale trilateral air maneuver over the Arabian Sea in collaboration with France and the United Arab Emirates. The main objective of the exercise is to further strengthen defense cooperation between the three countries and enhance military inter-operability in the Indian Ocean region and the broader Indo-Pacific.
According to media reports, the Indian Air Force will deploy its most powerful fighter planes in this exercise. This will include Sukhoi-30MKI and Jaguar fighter aircraft. Along with these, IL-78 mid-air refueler aircraft and AEW&C aircraft will also be deployed. All these aircraft will fly from Jamnagar and Naliya airbases in Gujarat. Intensive combat skills and combat maneuvers will be displayed during the exercise. Rafale and Mirage fighter planes as well as other aircraft from France and UAE will participate, which will come from Al Dhafra airbase. India has issued NOTAM for this exercise area.
According to media reports, the exercise area is located about 200 nautical miles off the Karachi coast of Pakistan and it will run from December 10-11. The three countries had earlier conducted a similar air exercise named Desert Night in December 2024. Now this is the second time when India, France and UAE will display aerial combat skills together. India is continuously increasing military cooperation with regional countries, especially the Persian Gulf countries. Countries like France, America and Australia are also important partners in this.
According to the report, a senior officer said that bilateral, trilateral and multilateral exercises help in refining combat skills, tactics and procedures in the real operational environment. Let us tell you that the navies of India, France and UAE conducted a trilateral maritime exercise for the first time in June 2023. That exercise emphasized a variety of operations at sea to counter traditional and non-traditional threats. This trilateral cooperation is part of an initiative launched by the foreign ministers of the three countries in 2022. Under this, cooperation is being increased in many areas including defence, technology, energy and environment.
