New bench fixed for Som Distilleries case in Madhya Pradesh High Court

Bhopal. In Madhya Pradesh, the petition of Som Distilleries regarding cancellation of license of liquor company Som Distilleries was heard in the High Court. Justice Vishal Mishra has recused himself from the hearing. Along with this, instructions have been given to transfer the case to another bench. However, the justice has not given any reason as to why the case has been transferred to another bench.

Justice Mishra had also recused from the illegal mining case.

This is not the first time that Justice Vishal Mishra has recused himself from the case. Earlier, he had decided to recuse himself in the illegal mining case of BJP MLA Sanjay Pathak. At present, after Justice Mishra recused from the case, now another bench will hear the case of cancellation of license of Som Distilleries.

The next date will be decided after handing over to the new bench.

After the removal of Justice Mishra, now the case will be transferred to the new bench on the instructions of the Chief Justice. Only after which the next date of hearing in the case will be decided. Now the new bench will hear the arguments of both the government and the company afresh.

Licenses were canceled 20 days ago

The Excise Department had taken major action against Som Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited and M/s Som Distilleries Private Limited located in Raisen district. About 20 days ago the Excise Department had canceled all the licenses of the company.
