Thousands of flights of the country’s largest airline Indigo were canceled in the beginning of December. Flights were canceled from almost every airport across the country. Due to this the passengers had to face a lot of trouble. The government had ordered an investigation into the entire matter. Now the investigation committee of DGCA has submitted its report. However the report has been kept confidential.
DDCA Joint Director General Sanjay K. This investigation committee was formed on December 5 under the chairmanship of Brahmane. The reason behind forming this inquiry committee was to find out about such a large number of canceled flights. Along with this, information also had to be gathered that it was not only Indigo officials who were involved in this.
The official said that the inquiry committee submitted its report to DGCA on Friday evening. Sources said that copies of the report were given to Civil Aviation Minister. have also been sent to the office of Ram Mohan Naidu and Civil Aviation Secretary Sameer Kumar Sinha.
Thousands of flights were canceled
Indigo flights were canceled on a large scale in the initial week of this month. During this period, more than 1,600 flights had to be canceled in one day. Apart from this, a large number of flights were delayed by several hours, due to which passengers had to face problems at airports across the country.
Indigo had not made timely preparations to implement the new rules related to deployment and rest of crew members, due to which passengers across the country had to face problems.
The government had taken action
Indigo had canceled a large number of flights without giving any information. After this, the government took action and decided to give 10 percent of IndiGo’s flights to other airlines. Along with this, show cause notice was also issued to Indigo CEO.
It was said about Indigo that the company was already facing crew shortage. The kind of problems that have come to light show that IndiGo’s low-cost strategy has now become a burden on it. Passengers had to bear the brunt of this negligence of Indigo.
