A report released by a real estate data analyst company has said that there is a possibility of a 21 percent decline in home sales in the country's major nine housing markets during the October to December quarter. This is due to high base effect, due to which around 1.08 lakh units will be left. The company has released sales figures for Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Thane. There is a possibility of increase in sales in Delhi-NCR only while there is a possibility of decline in other cities. According to the data released, total sales are likely to be 1,08,261 units in the quarter, which is less than last year. However, sales are likely to grow by five percent in the September quarter. A senior real estate executive said there has been a decline in sales due to high base effect, but it may improve due to festive demand.
