Gwalior Clean City Mission: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Gwalior Municipal Corporation has achieved a big achievement by strengthening the social concerns of the city. The campaign of cleanliness and environmental protection which has been going on continuously since last 15th April has got a new dimension today. Public participation has been ensured to save the heritage, property and environment of Gwalior during a grand program organized at Bal Bhawan Auditorium. On this occasion, the Municipal Corporation has signed an important Memorandum of Understanding i.e. MOU with various social, religious and educational institutions for better management of the city parks.
Institutions took over the responsibility of parks
Gwalior Municipal Corporation currently has about 250 parks, out of which only 101 parks are fully developed. The Municipal Corporation had sought cooperation from the public to overcome the shortage of resources and make the parks world class. Coming forward on this appeal, Prashant Patria of Vrikshalaya Institute has taken up the responsibility of managing maximum 10 parks.
Whereas BK Prahlad from Brahmakumari Sansthan has adopted two parks and Raj Chadda from Dana Paani Sansthan has adopted five parks. Apart from this, Maratha Samaj, Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan, JCI Institute, Saraswati Paryanya Vikas Samiti and Safal Yuva Mandal have also pledged to make the parks green and clean. Among educational institutions, Pankaj Shroti of Vikrant University has also come forward and taken up the responsibility of maintaining 12 parks.
