Newtopia: BLACKPINK’s Jisoo looks emotionally driven amidst the deadly chaos created by zombies

In 2025, BLACKPINK’s zombie drama Newtopia (formerly known as Influenza), starring Jisoo and Park Jung Min, is scheduled to debut.

Jisoo of BLACKPINK, who will play Young Joo, a lady caught in a zombie outbreak while frantically attempting to reconnect with her boyfriend, was featured in a new batch of stills from Newtopia that Coupang Play unveiled on December 26.

She is seen with a golf club in the new stills, intent on fending off zombies and saving her boyfriend Jae Yoon (Park Jung Min), who is imprisoned inside a high-rise air-defense unit. Even though she is crying when she considers his dangerous circumstances, she musters the bravery to make her way through the city’s chaos and meet him again.

A few additional stills, on the other hand, show her life prior to things going wrong. A peek of her colorful college days can be seen in one picture, where she is surrounded by male classmates and is the most attractive lady on campus. In one moment, a student even kneels down in front of her and pops the question while holding a bouquet. Young Joo is shown in another picture having a heated argument with her college friends. In the final still, she can be seen having a happy video chat with her lover, Jae Yoon.

This new collection of stills effectively displays Jisoo’s range as an actor, indicating that she will give an outstanding performance in Newtopia.
