Nexon.EV Owner Buys Brand New Top End Tata Sierra.EV AWD: Takes It Dune Bashing Day After Delivery [Video]

A lot of people, after buying a brand-new car, will try everything to make sure that they do not cause any damage to it. For this reason, they will drive their new car very carefully. However, there are some people who, immediately after taking delivery of their car, bash them. Recently, a video of one such man taking his brand-new Tata Sierra.ev to a dry lake bed has been shared online. In this video, just a day after the delivery of his Sierra.ev, this particular owner took it to the Sambhar Lake near Jaipur, Rajasthan, to drift it.

The video showing the delivery and then bashing of the brand-new Tata Sierra.ev has been shared on YouTube by EV Travel on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger taking his Tata Nexon.ev Red Dark Edition to the Tata Motors dealership. Following which, he arrived at the dealership with his family, and his Sierra.ev was parked in front of the main gate.

He then explains that they will first take the vehicle to the temple for the rituals. Following which, they will hand back the car to the dealership. He mentions that currently the loan for the vehicle is under process, and it will be completed later in the day, after which he will take the official delivery of the vehicle.

The video then cuts to the next day, and the vlogger mentions that the process stretched, and he received the car at around 9:30 PM. He then mentions that they are going to the Sambhar Lake, which is India’s largest inland saltwater lake, and it is located 80 km from Jaipur, Rajasthan. During the drive, he shows that with 67 percent battery, it has a range of 269 km.

He also mentions that even after driving at a constant speed of 75 to 80 kmph, the vehicle’s Average Energy Consumption (AEC) is very high. The owner then adds that the battery will need a recalibration as, yesterday during the delivery, it was idling with the air conditioning system on for a while. He states that he will let the vehicle discharge to 10 percent and then recharge it to calibrate the battery pack.

Following this, he then reaches the Sambhar Lake, where he mentions that he will be engaging the drift mode which the Sierra.ev comes equipped with. In the video, we can note that his occupants leave the vehicle, after which he starts drifting the vehicle. It can be seen that, from the inside of the vehicle, the drifts do not appear to be impressive.

However, the clips of the car from outside while drifting show that the vehicle is capable of performing proper drifts. The video also has a few drone shots, which also show the impressive drifting capabilities of the Sierra.ev. Additionally, in the video, the Sierra.ev owner also performs a reverse drift and makes a figure 8, which is also very impressive.

In addition to drifting on the Sambhar Lake, the Sierra.ev owner performed some light off-roading with his brand-new car. In the video, he was seen driving this SUV on sand dunes, and it can be noted that the Sierra.ev was driving effortlessly on the different terrains. The driver did not perform any extremely reckless stunts, which ensured that the vehicle did not get stuck.

We all have heard that brand-new cars have a break-in period. Under this period, vehicles have to be driven a bit gently to make sure that the vehicle does not have any problems in the longer run. However, with EVs not having a traditional internal combustion engine and the lack of parts with internal friction, EVs do not need any proper break-in period.

However, it has to be noted that EVs still have suspensions and brakes, which do need some time to settle. So, it is not advised to perform such stunts immediately after buying the vehicle. It also has to be mentioned that performing such stunts without expert supervision has its own risks, and if the vehicle crashes and causes injuries to the occupants, then it is another problem which one would not like to have.
