Neymar’s World Cup dream still alive, says Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti has kept the door open for Neymar despite leaving the Brazilian superstar out of the latest Seleção squad, insisting the forward can still make it to the World Cup, provided he returns to peak fitness.
The Brazil boss made it clear that the decision was purely based on current physical condition rather than a lack of trust in Neymar’s abilities. “It’s still possible,” Ancelotti said when asked about Neymar’s chances. “I didn’t call Neymar now because he’s not 100%. We need players who are at their best to help the Seleção.”
Ancelotti emphasized that the path back remains straightforward but demanding. The experienced man must prove both his fitness and form in the coming months. “Neymar has to keep working, playing, and showing his qualities and a good physical condition,” he added.
The omission comes as Neymar continues his recovery and attempts to regain rhythm after a challenging spell with injuries. Once the centerpiece of Brazil’s attack, his place is now under pressure from emerging talents and in-form forwards.
