New Delhi : The law has tightened its grip on Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed Rather, the main accused who is absconding in the car blast case that took place on 10 November 2025 near the Red Fort in Delhi. The NIA court of Srinagar has declared him a criminal under section 84 of the Indian Civil Defense Code. This order was passed last week, after which the special judge pasted the notice at Rather’s house in Qazigund on Saturday. Rather was involved in the conspiracy of car blast
Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed Rather is accused of being involved in the conspiracy of the car blast near the Red Fort, in which 15 people were killed. According to investigating agencies, Rather was an important part of the white collar terror module caught in October. Apart from this, his brother Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather has already been arrested from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Muzaffar Rather is suspected to be hiding in Afghanistan, due to which the court has started the process of proclamation against him.
Trio and explosive material exposed
Investigation revealed that this module was being operated by three doctors – Dr. Muzaffar Ghani, Dr. Umar Nabi and Dr. Muzaffar Rather. During the investigation in November, 2900 kg of explosive material was recovered. Dr. Umar Nabi is accused of driving the car in which the blast was filled with explosives.
Raid in Faridabad University
This entire module came to light when posters threatening the police and security forces were put up on the walls in Banpora area of Naugam in October. As part of the investigation, Srinagar Police raided Al Falah University, Faridabad, from where Dr. Muzaffar Ghani and Dr. Shaheen Saeed were arrested.
Due to Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed Rather being absconding and playing an important role, the court has taken strict action against him. Furthermore, it has become clear from the NIA investigation that this module was involved in serious terrorist activities. According to the law, the arrest of the accused and the hearing of the case has been fixed for January 28, 2026.
