Nifty 50 top gainers today, Feb 16: Power Grid, Coal India, HDFC Bank, Adani Enterprises, Max Healthcare and more
Indian equity benchmarks closed firmly in the green on February 16, with the Nifty 50 ending above the 25,650 mark. The Sensex settled 650.39 points higher, or 0.79%, at 83,277.15, while the Nifty gained 211.65 points, or 0.83%, to close at 25,682.75.
Among the Nifty 50 constituents, Power Grid Corporation of India emerged as the top gainer, rising 4.7% to close at ₹300.8. The stock led the index pack in percentage terms at the close.
Coal India advanced 3.3% to end at ₹422.3, while HDFC Bank added 2.4% to settle at ₹925.5.
Shares of Adani Enterprises climbed 2.1% to ₹2,181.3. Max Healthcare Institute closed 2.0% higher at ₹1,075.0.
Among financial names, Axis Bank rose 1.9% to ₹1,358.0, while Shriram Finance gained 1.8% to finish at ₹1,085.0.
In the pharmaceutical space, Cipla moved up 1.8% to ₹1,355.0.
From the energy pack, NTPC increased 1.6% to ₹368.9, and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation rose 1.5% to close at ₹271.5.
These stocks contributed to the broader strength in the benchmark indices, with gains spread across power, banking, healthcare and energy counters.
