Nifty 50 top gainers today, Feb 24: NTPC, Coal India, JSW Steel, Hindalco Industries, Hindustan Unilever and more
Indian benchmark indices ended lower on February 24, with the Nifty closing below the 25,450 mark on the F&O expiry day. The BSE Sensex declined 1,068.74 points or 1.28% to settle at 82,225.92, while the Nifty 50 fell 288.35 points or 1.12% to close at 25,424.65.
Despite the broader market weakness, select stocks from the Nifty 50 index ended the session in positive territory.
NTPC closed at ₹384.5, rising 2.4% during the session, making it the top gainer among Nifty 50 constituents. Coal India ended at ₹431.5, up 1.3%. JSW Steel settled at ₹1,256.2, registering a gain of 1.3%, while Hindalco Industries closed at ₹925.3, advancing 1.0%.
Hindustan Unilever finished at ₹2,364.8, up 0.8% for the day. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation closed at ₹277.2, gaining 0.6%. Titan Company ended at ₹4,292.0, up 0.5%, while Tata Steel settled at ₹209.0, rising 0.4%.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone closed at ₹1,561.9, up 0.4%. Power Grid Corporation of India ended at ₹304.5, also advancing 0.4%.
The gains in these stocks came even as the headline indices closed in the red, reflecting stock-specific movements within the broader market.
