Nifty 50 top losers today, Feb 24: Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Eternal, Infosys, TCS and more
Indian benchmark indices ended sharply lower on February 24, with heavy selling pressure dragging frontline stocks down on the F&O expiry day. The Nifty 50 slipped below the 25,450 mark at the close.
The Sensex declined 1,068.74 points or 1.28% to settle at 82,225.92, while the Nifty 50 fell 288.35 points or 1.12% to close at 25,424.65.
Among the top losers in the Nifty 50 was Tech Mahindrawhich dropped 6.6% to close at ₹1,345.4. HCL Technologies fell 6.1% to ₹1,339.2. Eternal declined 5.2% to ₹254.0.
Infosys ended 3.9% lower at ₹1,275.5, while Tata Consultancy Services slipped 3.8% to ₹2,573.7. Larsen & Toubro lost 3.6% to close at ₹4,259.2.
Trent fell 3.1% to ₹3,931.3. Bharti Airtel declined 2.8% to ₹1,941.0, while Wipro also dropped 2.8% to ₹200.1.
HDFC Bank closed 1.4% lower at ₹910.5.
The decline was led largely by IT stocks, with multiple major technology names ending the session with losses of more than 3% as broader market sentiment remained weak through the expiry session.
