Nifty 50 top losers today, February 16: Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finance lead declines
Indian benchmark indices ended higher on February 16, with the Nifty 50 closing 211.65 points or 0.83% up at 25,682.75 and the BSE Sensex rising 650.39 points or 0.79% to 83,277.15.
However, several frontline stocks finished in the red despite the broader market strength.
Among the top losers:
Tech Mahindra declined 1.4% to close at ₹1,512.7, emerging as the biggest percentage loser in the index for the day.
Maruti Suzuki India fell 1.2% to settle at ₹15,051.0.
Bajaj Finance slipped 1.2%, ending the session at ₹1,012.8.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles dropped 0.8% to ₹377.3.
Bajaj Auto and Eicher Motors both declined 0.7%, closing at ₹9,690.0 and ₹8,010.5, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra was down 0.7% at ₹3,509.7.
Jio Financial Services edged lower by 0.5% to ₹262.6, while Trent also fell 0.5% to ₹4,229.5.
Wipro declined 0.4% to close at ₹213.3.
The losses in these stocks came even as headline indices ended firmly in positive territory for the session.
