Nifty 50 top losers today, February 18: ONGC, Wipro, Eternal, Adani Enterprises, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and more
Indian equity benchmarks ended higher on February 18, with buying support in select heavyweights helping indices close in the green. The BSE Sensex rose 283.29 points or 0.34% to settle at 83,734.25, while the NIFTY 50 gained 93.95 points or 0.37% to close at 25,819.35, holding above the 25,800 mark.
Despite the positive close for the broader market, several frontline stocks ended lower and featured among the top losers of the session.
- Oil and Natural Gas Corporation declined 2.7% to close at ₹264.6, marking the steepest fall among the major laggards.
- Wipro slipped 1.7% to end at ₹212.0.
- Eternal fell 1.5% to settle at ₹277.4.
- Adani Enterprises dropped 1.4% to close at ₹2,211.2.
- Infosys was down 1.3% at ₹1,373.7.
- Tech Mahindra declined 1.3% to ₹1,504.8.
- HCL Technologies ended 1.0% lower at ₹1,467.2.
- Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone slipped 1.0% to close at ₹1,550.8.
- Coal India fell 0.8% to ₹418.0.
- Tata Consultancy Services declined 0.8% to end at ₹2,694.9.
Overall market breadth remained mixed, even as headline indices posted modest gains for the day.
