Indian equity benchmarks closed sharply lower on January 23, with selling pressure clearly visible across heavyweight stocks. The Nifty 50 slipped below the 25,100 mark, ending the session at 25,048.65, down 0.95%. The Sensex also weakened, closing at 81,537.70, lower by 0.94%.
