Nikola Jokic continues MVP push with epic performance vs. Spurs

The NBA’s MVP race is coming down to the wire.

On Saturday, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic continued his late push for a fourth MVP trophy with an unreal performance in a 136-134 overtime win against the San Antonio Spurs and fellow MVP candidate Victor Wembanyama.

The eight-time All-Star had 40 points on 13-of-25 shooting, 13 assists, eight rebounds and three blocks, getting the better of Wembanyama, who finished with 34 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists and five blocks.

In a performance with several highlights, arguably Jokic’s best moment came on a fadeaway jumper over Wembanyama deep into the shot clock with a minute left in overtime, giving the Nuggets a 133-129 advantage.
