Compared to other segments SUV Customers respond well to the vehicles. That is why many companies are preparing to launch powerful SUVs in the coming new year i.e. 2026. Nissan is also likely to launch its new SUV Nissan Tekton in the new year.

The Nissan Tekton will be based on the CMF-B platform shared with the Renault Duster. The company will introduce the car in February 2026 and it is likely to be launched by June 2026. Currently, Nissan has only released teasers of the Tecton. That gives you a lot of information about this car. Let’s know about the special features that can be found in Nissan Tecton.

What will the exterior be like?

The design of the Nissan Tecton will be muscular and premium. At the front, it will have LED headlamps with connected LED DRLs. Also the bonnet will have prominent lines joined by Tekton branding.
There will also be a connected LED taillight setup at the rear, with Tekton badging on the tailgate. Also the design inspiration is taken from Nissan’s flagship petrol SUV.

Nissan Tecton engine

The Nissan Tecton is expected to be offered with petrol engine options. It may include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Currently, there is no official confirmation about the strong-hybrid, but after the strong-hybrid version of the Renault Duster, this option may also be available in the Tekton in the future. In the international market, the Duster is offered with a 1.6-liter strong-hybrid engine (149 hp).

Interior and features

Although Nissan is yet to give an official glimpse of the Tekton’s interior, the SUV is likely to feature an attractive three-tone dashboard. It gets modern features like digital driver display, touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger, front seat ventilation and sunroof.

The Tekton is expected to come with a strong package in terms of safety as well. It gets standard 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, electronic parking brake with auto hold and safety features like TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System).

Will the Nissan Tekton get a 7-seater option?

The Nissan Tekton will currently be launched as a 5-seater SUV. However, the company has confirmed that it will introduce a 7-seater option in 2027. Interestingly, this 7-seater will not be an extended version of the Tekton, but a standalone model based on the Renault Boreal / Bigster platform.

What would be the estimated cost?

The ex-showroom price of the Nissan Tekton is expected to be around Rs 11 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. It will directly compete with SUV models like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor in the Indian market.
