Nitin Nabin Sole Nominee for BJP National President

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing to formally announce Nitin Nabin as its new national president on January 20, 2026, at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ceremony.

According to the official press statement issued by Dr. K. Laxman, National Returning Officer for Sangathan Parv, the nomination process concluded on January 19, 2026. A total of 37 sets of nomination papers were filed in favour of Nabin, all of which were found valid. With no other contenders, Nabin stands as the sole nominee for the post.

Nabin, currently serving as BJP’s working president, is the sole nominee for the post. He filed 37 sets of nominations, each endorsed by top leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and outgoing president JP Nadda. With no other contenders, his elevation is assured.

This development follows the successful completion of BJP’s Organisation Parv 2024, which saw elections across booth, mandal, district, and state levels. Nabin’s uncontested rise reflects both continuity and generational change within the party.

Nabin will become the BJP’s 12th national president, succeeding JP Nadda, with around 700 representatives expected to gather for the formal announcement.
