Nitish Kumar becomes the first former Chief Minister of the country for whom the Central Government is going to change the VIP law of the airport.

New Delhi/Patna: A big news is coming out from the political circles of Delhi regarding former Chief Minister of Bihar and veteran leader of Janata Dal United (JDU) Nitish Kumar. The Narendra Modi government at the Center is preparing to give such a VVIP airport protocol to Nitish Kumar, which no former Chief Minister has received till date in the history of the country. According to information received from sources, Nitish Kumar can get a very special VIP treatment at Delhi and Patna airports, which is usually available only to the sitting Chief Ministers.

Nitish Babu’s car will go straight to the runway!

The biggest facility that Nitish Kumar is going to get under this new and special protocol is that now his vehicle will be allowed to go directly to the runway at the airport with a security cordon. This means that Nitish Kumar will not have to go through the lengthy security check and boarding formalities inside the airport terminal like ordinary passengers or other VIPs. They will be able to directly reach the plane or helicopter parked on the runway from their car and fly to their destination from there.

Let us tell you that this luxurious and extremely secure protocol facility has till now been limited only to the country’s sitting Chief Ministers, Governors and some selected Very Special (VVIP) category constitutional officials. If this new proposal of the Central Government is implemented, it will be the first time in the history of Indian politics that a former Chief Minister of a state will be given a special and big airport protocol of this level.

Sources say that Nitish Kumar is currently a Rajya Sabha MP. Along with this, he is one of the most senior leaders of the country and has been the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record period. For this reason, high-level discussions have taken place at the central government level to upgrade their level of security and protocols. It is believed in political circles that very soon the Civil Aviation Ministry may also issue a formal order in this regard.

Had suddenly left the post of Chief Minister in March 2026

Recall that this year in March 2026, Nitish Kumar had surprised the entire country by suddenly resigning from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar. He had announced to step back a bit from the active politics of the state and play a bigger role in national politics. After this shocking decision of Nitish Kumar, Samrat Chaudhary, leader of the BJP-JDU alliance (NDA) legislature party in Bihar, was elected, who was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Bihar. After leaving the post of Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar was sent to Rajya Sabha by Janata Dal United, and he is currently a member of the country’s Upper House.

Big reward for changed political equations?

Political analysts believe that the reason behind this special honor being given to Nitish Kumar by the Modi government is the changed equation of current politics at the Centre. At present, Janata Dal United (JDU) is in the role of kingmaker in the NDA government sitting in Delhi. Nitish Kumar’s party is being considered to be the biggest and most important contribution in providing stable support to the third term of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

If political pundits are to be believed, considering this strong political coordination and stature of Nitish Kumar, the Central Government is giving him this special attention. However, no official statement has been issued yet by the Central Government, Home Ministry or Ministry of Civil Aviation on this entire matter, but discussions about this special protocol have become very intense from Patna to Delhi.
