“Nitish Kumar Reddy has a strong core like MS Dhoni, Kevin Pietersen and Vivian Richards”: Ex-player
Nitish Kumar Reddy is hogging the limelight because of his maiden Test hundred in the fourth Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He not only took India out of trouble but also put Australians on the back foot. The right-handed batter was unbeaten on 103 runs when bad light ended the proceedings on Day 3 of the boxing day Test.
India are still 116 runs behind with Nitish and Siraj set to resume the innings on Day 4.
Nitish would like to cut the deficit as much as possible before Australia bat for the second time in the contest. Former England player Mark Nicholas was praying for Nitish’s hundred from the moment he entered the nervous nineties and celebrated it in the commentary box.
After the comparing the batter with AB de Villiers, Mark put the 21-year-old in the category of MS Dhoni, Kevin Pietersen and Vivian Richards. He was taking about the importance of strong body core when he made the comparison.
*Nitish Kumar Reddy is some cricketer. Look at some of his shots. He has a strong body core, which is helping him to play the shots on the on side of the wicket. The deliveries that are a bit short and directed towards his body are being hit easily by him. He is playing shots like Dhoni. Nitish has a strong body core like some of the legends. Kevin Pietersen, Dhoni and Vivian Richards were pretty similar,” Mark Nicholas said.
