A shocking accident happened in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Here a 25-year-old car dealer died while he was examining a second-hand car. It is being told that while inspecting the car parked on the roadside, the airbag installed in its steering suddenly opened. The plastic cover of the airbag came off rapidly and hit his neck directly, causing serious injury. An attempt was made to save him but his life could not be saved.
The deceased youth has been identified as Mohit Suresh Soni. According to the police, he was looking at a Honda car on Wednesday afternoon, which was to be sold to another customer. Initial investigation found no signs of collision or accident. However, the sudden deployment of the airbag is still a matter of investigation.

Died before reaching the hospital
According to eyewitnesses, as soon as the airbag opened, its cover hit the right side of Mohit’s neck with a sharp jerk. Due to serious injury, a lot of blood started flowing. People present nearby immediately informed the police. Police took injured Mohit to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Government Hospital in Bhayandar but doctors declared him dead after examination. After this, the police registered a case of accidental death (ADR) and started investigation.
RTO will investigate
According to the police, it was a 15-year-old Honda car and it also had a valid fitness certificate. The forensic team has collected necessary evidence and blood samples from the spot. Also, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) has been instructed to conduct a detailed examination of the mechanical and electrical systems of the car. Police are also investigating whether any technical problem related to airbags had ever surfaced in the vehicle before.

Airbags usually deploy within a few milliseconds to save the lives of passengers in an accident. But if an airbag deploys without a collision, it can itself cause serious injury. Mohit’s family has demanded an impartial investigation into this entire matter. At the same time, the police say that only after the forensic and technical reports come, it will be known why the airbag suddenly opened without any accident and what was the real reason for this tragic accident.
