‘No future peace if Hamas stays in power,’ says Israel foreign minister | Read

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Sunday at a press conference after the ceasefire in Gaza went into effect that no future peace in the region is possible if Hamas remains in power in the Palestinian enclave.

“This war could have ended long ago if Hamas laid down its weapons and handed over our hostages,” Gideon stated. “The rule of Hamas in the Gaza Strip is not only a threat to the security of Israel, but it is a nightmare for the Palestinians themselves,” he emphasized.

The minister also ensured that Israel remains “committed to achieve all the goals of the war that the security cabinet determined, that includes a return of all our hostages and the dismantling of Hamas.”
