New reporting dashboard for creators

Meta has announced that creators on Facebook will now get a centralized reporting dashboard. With the help of this dashboard, they will be able to instantly flag content that has been copied or posted in their name.

Before this update, creators had to file separate reports for each post, making the process cumbersome. However, now multiple complaints can be filed from a single place. It is expected that this will speed up action against copied content and provide relief to the original creators.

The definition of original content also changed

Meta has also updated Facebook’s content guidelines to clarify that “original content” Who will be considered? According to the new guidelines, the content which has been filmed or made by a creator himself will be considered clearly original. Additionally, videos or reels that remix pre-existing content, such as adding new analysis, commentary, or additional information, may also fall into this category. The purpose of this change is to provide better incentives to creators and prevent ‘copy-paste’ on social media. The problem of content has to be reduced.

AI generated content and deepfakes become a big challenge

While these new tools from Meta can help identify duplicate or copied content, they are currently unable to completely detect AI-generated deepfakes. This means that if a deepfake video is created using the identity or appearance of a creator, then taking immediate action against it remains a big challenge. Meta decided to further tighten its measures in this regard only after increasing complaints about fake AI-generated content on social media.

Meta has also launched a new feature for Facebook Marketplace. With this feature, businesses and sellers will now be able to automatically answer customer questions using Meta AI.
