This is a long-term challenge, which is not possible to end in a day. He clarified that working on air quality is not easy, as there are many reasons for it and no one has a magic wand that can solve it instantly.
Many reasons for pollution problem in Delhi
CM Rekha Gupta said that there are many reasons for the problem of pollution in Delhi. The biggest reason is the continuously increasing population of the city. Apart from this, pollution level remains high due to stubble burning, increase in the number of vehicles and construction activities. He told that earlier there was a traffic problem, but today it has increased manifold. Smoke coming from industries and construction sites also affects the air quality. CM said that due to all these reasons combined, there is continuous pollution in the air of Delhi.
The government is continuously working for a solution…
Along with this, CM Rekha Gupta assured that the Delhi government is continuously working to solve this problem. He said that in the last 10 months, the government has taken several important steps to reduce pollution, including measures to control dust on roads, monitoring vehicle emissions, and controlling stubble burning. He stressed that no previous government could work so fast in the last several years.
The CM also said that improving air quality is a time-consuming task. Continuous efforts are needed to reduce pollution in Delhi and it has to be ensured that technical, social and legal steps are taken to stop the increase in pollution levels.
It is not possible to reduce pollution without public participation.
Rekha Gupta also appealed to the citizens for cooperation. He said that it is not possible to reduce pollution without public participation. He suggested that people should use vehicles less, adopt electric and less polluting vehicles and avoid habits like burning garbage. Apart from this, the government is continuously working to improve air quality through new technologies and policies. The CM finally expressed confidence that if all the steps are implemented properly, it is possible to improve the air quality in Delhi in the coming years. Although this is a long battle, the government is working in this direction with full seriousness and speed.
