No time to go to the gym? Do this 5 minutes easy yoga while standing in any corner of the house.
News India Live, Digital Desk: In our busy lives, we often struggle the most with two things, one is our bad ‘posture’ and the other is our ‘disoriented mind’ (mental focus). Sitting bent over in front of the computer all day long and keeping the neck bent for hours with the mobile in hand… the result? Back pain, stiff shoulders and irritable nature. Do you know that the solution to all these is very easy? So easy that you will not even need to lay a yoga mat for this. I am talking about ‘Vrikshasana’, which is also called ‘Tree Pose’ in English. It is not just an exercise, it is a tonic for the brain. Often people think that yoga is only for making the body flexible. But the case of Vrikshasana is a little different. What happens when you try to stand on one leg? Your entire attention goes into handling the falling body. At that time, your mind leaves aside the tension here and there (what will happen tomorrow, what happened in the office) and focuses only on the “Present Moment”. This is the moment when your mental health improves. This asana is no less than a meditation to reduce anxiety and stress. How does this asana change your body? Shoulders and Back Straight: It trains to keep the spine straight. This is best for people who walk stooped. Strong legs: Bearing the entire weight of the body on one leg makes the ankles, knees and thighs as strong as iron. Neuromuscular coordination: That is, coordination between your brain and muscles improves. How to do it correctly? (So as not to fall!) It may seem difficult to balance in the beginning, so do not be shy in taking support of the wall. Stand straight: keep the weight equal on both the legs (Tadasana). Take the position: Lift your right leg and rest it on the inner thigh of the left leg. Attention: Never put the leg on the knee, this can cause injury to the knee. Either keep it above or below the knees. Namaste Mudra: When the balance is achieved, fold the hands near the chest or slowly move them above the head and join them. Fix the gaze: The secret of maintaining balance Look at a point or object on the wall in front of you. If you lose sight, you will fall. Breathing: Keep breathing normally. Wait for 30 seconds and then repeat with the other leg. A Salah Yoga while walking is not a competition. It’s okay if your feet wobble in the beginning. Just as a small plant gradually grows into a strong tree, you too will gradually learn to maintain balance. Include this in your routine today, both your body and mind will thank you!
