Noida International Airport becomes an impenetrable fort in hi-tech security, strengthened security model with five new police posts and two fire stations
Lucknow/Noida, Amrit Thoughts: On the occasion of the inauguration of Noida International Airport, the model of security system became an example for the country. The airport and its surrounding area have been transformed into a multi-layered and hi-tech security cordon. Construction of five new temporary police posts and fire stations of 7 units each have been established at two places, to enable quick action in unpleasant situations.
According to Joint Police Commissioner Rajeev Narayan Mishra, a total of 70 police personnel have received special training through the Jewar Immigration Course for airport security and operations. This includes three inspectors, 24 sub-inspectors, 17 head constables and 26 constables. 61 more policemen have also been nominated for the upcoming training. Additionally, 35 policemen have been deployed for Police Station Jewar Domestic Terminal, which includes inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables and technical staff.
Strong surveillance from police posts and vehicles
Five new checkpoints have been set up in the airport area at Mile Stone-15, 27 and 32, Cargo Terminal and Domestic Terminal. Through these posts, perimeter security has been strengthened and monitoring of traffic routes is being ensured effectively. Constant patrolling is being done through PCR/PRV vehicles and security remains active at all times.
Hi-tech measures for fire safety
Two new fire stations are being built in Sector-32 and Sector-18 of Yamuna Authority area. One fire officer, 3 second officers, one ASIM, 8 LFMs, 9 drivers and 44 firemen will be deployed in each centre. This will ensure immediate and effective action in any emergency.
No-fly zone and high-tech surveillance
A five-tier security cordon was formed across the area under the leadership of Police Commissioner (Gautam Buddha Nagar) Lakshmi Singh during the inauguration program of PM Narendra Modi. Hi-tech anti-drone system, 200 door frame metal detectors, bomb disposal squad, anti-sabotage check and sniffer dogs were deployed. About 5000 policemen, PAC, RAF, ATS, CISF and SPG remained ready for security. Special arrangements for parking of 20,000 vehicles were also made along with arrangements like social media monitoring, control room, help desk and NDRF/SDRF alerts.
