Nokia smartphones have been shifted to a separate category on HMD’s website, indicating that they are no longer part of HMD Global’s active product portfolio.
HMD Global took the license of Nokia in 2017
Nokia was once the uncrowned king of the mobile industry. In the 2000s, its devices were popular all over the world. But the growing influence of iOS and Android devices weakened Nokia’s hold.
In the year 2017, HMD Global acquired the license to manufacture and market Nokia brand smartphones. With this move, it was expected that Nokia would re-establish its old identity and hold on the market.
