Non-bailable warrant issued against Ameesha Patel

A court in Uttar Pradesh has issued a non-bailable warrant against Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel in connection with a 2017 fraud case.

According to reports, the case was filed by an event organiser based in Moradabad who alleged that the actress accepted payment for a wedding performance but failed to attend the event.

Allegations linked to 2017 wedding event

The complainant, Pawan Kumar Verma, owner of Dream Vision event management company, claimed that Patel was paid ₹11 lakh as advance for a wedding performance. He further alleged that she later demanded an additional ₹2 lakh upon arriving in Delhi to travel to the venue.

When the additional amount was reportedly not paid, the actress allegedly did not attend the event and failed to return the advance payment. The matter has been under legal proceedings since 2017.

Sources indicate that the court issued the non-bailable warrant after Patel allegedly failed to appear despite previous summons.

Past legal disputes

This is not the first time the actress has faced legal controversy. In 2004, she filed a case against her father, Amit Patel, accusing him of mismanaging her finances to the tune of ₹12 crore. In interviews at the time, Patel stated that she had no regrets about taking legal action, asserting that no one had the right to misuse her earnings.

Professionally, Patel returned to the big screen with the 2023 film Gadar 2, which performed strongly at the box office. She later appeared in Tauba Tera Jalwa in 2024.

As of now, there has been no official statement from the actress regarding the latest court order
