Nora Fatehi caught in ‘Sarke Chunar’ controversy, actress’s work permit in trouble; lawyers contacted Home Ministry
Nora Fatehi Song Sarke Chunar Controversy: Actress and dancer Nora Fatehi is in the headlines recently. There was controversy regarding his new Hindi song ‘Sarke Chunar’, which was eventually banned. This song was the Hindi translation of the Kannada film ‘KD Devil’. The lyrics of the song were said to have ‘double meaning’, which caused objection among the people. Now the matter has increased further. According to reports, ten lawyers have approached the Home Ministry demanding cancellation of Nora’s work permit and her deportation from India.
According to sources, the complaint has also been sent to many big authorities, such as Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Central Board of Film Certification.

Lawyers say that the song is obscene and has sexual references, which is against the dignity of women and public morality. He also said that Nora misused her right to work in India. Under the Foreign Nationals Act, 1946, the government has the right to take action against such foreign nationals who can harm people.
Other legal claims
The lawyers also cited the Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1920 and other legal sections. His petition states that this song violates several laws, such as certain sections of the Indian Penal Code, Degrading Portrayal of Women (Ban) Act, 1986, Information Technology Act 2000. He also said that such songs promote obscenity in the society, objectify women and strengthen negative social attitudes.
Nora Fatehi’s reaction
Earlier reacting to the controversy, Nora said that she did not know the meaning of the song as she had shot it in Kannada. He claimed that the translation into Hindi was done without his permission. Nora said in the video on social media- ‘I shot this song in Kannada three years ago. I accepted it because it was a part of a big film and was with Sanjay Dutt. I was not involved in the Hindi version and was not aware of the changes.
He also told that when he saw the Kannada version of the song at the launch event, he saw some problems. But she was completely shocked after seeing the Hindi translation. He told the director that this was not right and distanced himself from the project.
Reaction of lawyers and religious organization
The lawyers rejected Nora’s explanation that artists cannot distance themselves from the content of a project after taking advantage of it. He said that the use of AI tools does not reduce personal responsibility. Apart from this, Aligarh Muslim Personal Darul Ifta also issued a fatwa against Nora Fatehi, terming the song as objectionable.
Amidst the growing controversy, the central government confirmed the ban on the song on Wednesday. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed about this decision in the Lok Sabha.
