Nora Fatehi Controversy: After the controversy over the song ‘Sarke Chunar’ from the film ‘KD: The Devil’, actress Nora Fatehi reached the office of National Commission for Women (NCW) in Jasola, Delhi on May 7 at 11:30 am. People had protested on social media by calling the lyrics and dance of this song obscene. Coming out of the Commission’s office, Nora publicly apologized and also took a noble initiative and announced to bear the entire expense of the education of the orphan girls.

Earlier, he had also given clarification about this on Instagram. This controversy further increased when after Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadauria raised questions, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told in the Lok Sabha that this song has been banned due to complaints.

Why was there controversy over the song ‘Sarke Chunar’?

The controversy began in March 2026 when the National Commission for Women took action on complaints of obscenity in the film’s songs. The Commission sent notice to the entire team of the film including actress Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt. In this, deep concern was expressed over the lyrics and visuals of the song under strict laws like Indian Judicial Code and POCSO.

There was huge opposition to this song on social media since its release. People alleged that women have been portrayed in a wrong way in the song. Due to a lot of protest and legal pressure, the demand to remove this song from all platforms and take action against the culprits soon intensified.
