Nora Fatehi has finally responded to backlash over her latest song, Sarke Chunar, on social media, revealing shocking details about the track from KD: The Devil, which was reportedly banned, and urging audiences to read the full story.

Nora Fatehi has finally spoken out after facing backlash over her item song, Sarke Chunar, from the Kannada film KD: The Devil. The makers released the Hindi lyrical video online on March 16, but it drew criticism from many viewers over its allegedly vulgar lyrics. In a video message shared on Instagram, Nora said she was unaware of the controversy and expressed disappointment with the makers. She stated that the lyrical video had been released without her knowledge or approval, and clarified that she does not support the way the song was presented to audiences across digital platforms worldwide.

Nora Fatehi Responds to ‘Sarke Chunar’ Controversy

In the video, Nora Fatehi said she filmed the song three years ago, specifically for a Kannada version. At the time, she was informed it was a remake of Sanjay Dutt’s iconic track Nayak Nahi Khalnayak Hoon Main. However, she was unaware of any controversy or backlash that would emerge after the Hindi version was released online just a few days ago without her approval.

Nora Fatehi shared that she is grieving the loss of her close friend, celebrity hairstylist Marce Pedrozo. She had been in a remote location without network access. Once she regained connectivity, she discovered people had begun trolling her for allegedly being involved in the Sarke Chunar project amid online criticism.

Nora Fatehi stated that she personally approves every image shared by her team on social media, but was shocked to find unapproved pictures appearing in the lyrical video. The Baahubali fame also alleged that the makers released the video without her consent. She further clarified that the song’s thumbnail featuring her with Sanjay Dutt is actually AI-generated and not a real photograph in any manner.

The actress revealed, “I am totally against AI, and the use of it for my song is completely wrong.” She took up this song because she was getting a chance to work with Sanjay Dutt. However, the Hindi version of it turned out to be a mess. Nora further stated that she never wanted the director to release the song, as she had already heard it and immediately told the director Prem that it would not be appreciated by the Hindi-speaking audience.

Nora ended her statement by clarifying the issue, emphasising that she would never support or endorse songs of that nature under any circumstances and urged viewers to be responsible while sharing online.
