‘Not just one but thousands of suicide bombs ready…if I told the number the world would be shaken’; Audio Viral of Masood Azhar spewing venom
Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed has once again tried to demonstrate its strength. The organization has released an audio message on social media, which is said to be the voice of its chief Maulana Masood Azhar. In this audio, Azhar claimed that he had “thousands” of suicide bombers ready. However, the date and authenticity of this audio has not been independently confirmed. Experts are considering this as a propaganda message showing the mental state of the organization, and not an indication of the real danger at that time.
Masood Azhar’s audio message and its contents
In this audio, Azhar is seen making big claims about the strength of his organization. He says, “Our people are not just one, two or a hundred, but thousands. Revealing the real number would create an uproar in the media around the world.” Azhar also said that his followers do not fight for any material gain, visa or personal gain, but are only ready for “martyrdom”. Analysts believe the message appears to have been written in a more provocative and desperate manner, coming just months after India struck Jaish hideouts in Pakistan.
Impact of India’s Operation Sindoor
In response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April last year, India had attacked several Jaish hideouts. Close relatives of Masood Azhar were also killed in this. In September 2025, the organization indirectly acknowledged this loss. A senior Jaish commander said in a video message that Azhar’s family members were killed in the Indian attack in Bahawalpur. The Jami Masjid Subhan Allah site of Bahawalpur was completely destroyed in this attack. Azhar’s sister, brother-in-law, nephew-niece and other members of the extended family were also killed in this attack. Many assistants were also killed in this attack.
Current status of Masood Azhar
Masood Azhar has not been seen in public since 2019. In the same year, his Bahawalpur base was bombed by unknown assailants, in which Azhar survived. Since then he has been out of sight of the general public. Azhar, a UN-designated terrorist, is the mastermind behind several deadly attacks in India, including the 2016 Pathankot airbase attack and the 2019 Pulwama suicide attack. According to intelligence sources, he may now be active away from Bahawalpur, possibly in Pakistan occupied areas.
expert opinion
Experts say that the purpose of this audio is to threaten the world and increase enthusiasm among the members of the organization. However, this message is not being treated as an immediate actionable threat.
