Now you will get employment opportunity, government is opening driving training center

Driving Training Center India: Amidst the increasing concern regarding unemployment and road safety in the country, the Central Government has prepared to take a big step. The government is now going to open driving training centers in 120 aspirational districts and 500 socially, economically and educationally backward blocks of the country with the help of the industry. The main objective of this scheme is to provide employment opportunities to about one crore youth in the next 5 years, which will especially benefit the middle class and rural youth.

Focus on eliminating the shortage of drivers

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave information about this scheme during the road safety campaign organized in the capital. He said that at present there is a shortage of about 22 lakh drivers in the country. To fill this gap, the government has already started 200 driving schools and now this initiative will be implemented on a larger scale.

Lakhs of accidents every year, big concern

Expressing concern over road accidents, Nitin Gadkari said that every year about 5 lakh road accidents occur in India, in which about 1.8 lakh people lose their lives. The share of youth between 18 to 44 years in these accidents is about 66 percent. Not only this, due to these accidents approximately 3 percent of the country’s GDP is also lost.

5 major reasons for road accidents

The minister listed five main reasons behind the accidents. The first reason is poor road design and engineering. To rectify this problem, the government has spent Rs 40,000 crore and fixed many black spots. The second reason is related to vehicle manufacturing, while the third reason is non-compliance of traffic rules. The fourth reason is the careless behavior of people. Landslides are also a major cause of accidents in hilly areas, where 350 places have been identified and 280 of them have been rectified.

Helmet and seat belt can save life

Nitin Gadkari said that there is a lack of fear and respect for law in the country. He said that just by wearing a helmet, the lives of about 50,000 people can be saved, while by wearing seat belts, 30,000 people can be kept safe. However, he also said that there has been a slight decline in cases of drunk driving.

On this occasion, actor Aamir Khan also spoke about road safety. He said that road safety is not only related to rules but also to the thinking of people. He suggested that seat belts should be made mandatory for children in school buses, so that their safety can be ensured.

What will be the benefit?

This initiative of the government will play a dual role, on one hand new employment opportunities will be created, while on the other hand awareness regarding road safety will also increase. This scheme will be especially beneficial for those youth who want to get employment quickly by learning skills at low cost.
