In fact, TDP, which is part of the NDA, has opposed the idea of passing the cost of the scheme on the states in the ‘VB G RAM G’ bill. Party MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu says that the idea was going on among the stakeholders for some years. He believed that there was a need to amend and improve MNREGA. On the basis of these ideas, changes were made outside and inside the Parliament. Like the working days were increased from 100 to 125. He said that Andhra Pradesh is facing cash crisis since 2014. For the last one and a half years, he has been working with the government on many schemes and whenever he has asked for help, the central government has come forward and helped him. So they hope the same will happen this time too.
TDP spokesperson N Vijay Kumar says his party welcomes this new version of the plan. He said that he will ask the Central Government to reconsider the provision of 40 percent payment. Let us tell you that Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had introduced this bill in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday amid the uproar of the opposition, which was passed by the House by voice vote.
