Now illegal colonies will be controlled in MP! Government’s big decision regarding diversion, know what is the new system and how to get benefits
The Revenue Department and Registration Department of Madhya Pradesh are working together rapidly on this new system. The main objective of this initiative is to stop illegal colonies being developed indiscriminately by getting land diverted from SDM offices. Let us tell you that till now the process of changing the use of land i.e. diversion was completed by depositing fees online on the land records portal. Although this online facility has increased the government’s revenue, but at the same time, due to arbitrary diversion, the number of illegal colonies has also increased rapidly. Now, with the implementation of the system of registered diversion, this arbitrariness will be stopped and systematic urbanization will be promoted.
On this entire matter, Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh said that a thorough review has been done at the government level regarding diversion. He clarified that the Registration and Revenue departments are working together on this new system, which will benefit the general public as well as the concerned districts. This is a step that will promote urbanization in a systematic manner and save the common people from the losses incurred by investing in illegal colonies. This shows the government’s commitment towards the people.
The new digital registration system is going to bring many big benefits. First of all, the process of changing the use of agricultural land or other land will be a bit difficult. In this, it will be mandatory to clearly disclose the rules of the master plan, the existing land use and the sensitivity arising from the diversion. The biggest benefit of this change will be that now building colonies on agricultural land only in the name of diversion will be completely stopped. This is a relief news for those people who were trapped in the web of illegal colonies for years and were deprived of basic facilities.
If we look at the current situation, the number of illegal colonies in Bhopal district is worrying. In Huzur tehsil alone, 135 such illegal colonies have been identified, which have been built by diversion of agricultural land. These colonies lack Town and Country Planning (T&CP) layout and permission from the concerned municipal body. Apart from this, there are also more than 400 illegal colonies present in all the eight Nazul areas of the district, which have been developed disregarding the rules. This step of the government will prove helpful in curbing all these illegal constructions and will ensure planned development of cities.
Not only this, the government is also taking an important initiative to make revenue related works more accessible. Now people will not have to face the problem of non-availability of officers in Nazul offices for revenue related works like demarcation, demarcation and counting. The administration has decided that Public Service Guarantee Centers will be established only at Nazul offices in the district. Through these centres, the common people will be able to get all their revenue related work done easily. If they face any problem, they will be able to get their problems resolved by directly meeting the higher officials of the tehsil present there. This system will free the public from visiting government offices.
The clear objective of the administration is to develop Nazul offices as a center of public movement i.e. ‘utility space’. This new system is likely to be fully implemented in the coming two to three months. At present, three Public Service Guarantee Centers are operating in Bhopal district, where the facility of applying for 32 different services related to the common people and obtaining certificates is available. With this expansion, the public will not have to wander for revenue related works and their access to government services will become even easier. This is certainly a big relief for the people of Madhya Pradesh and a commendable step taken towards better administration.
