Now Kashi is also becoming famous as a big health center and healthcare hub of Purvanchal: PM Modi

PM Modi in Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, where he inaugurated RJ Shankar Eye Hospital. He also visited the exhibition held here. During this, while addressing the people, he said, coming to Kashi in this holy month is an opportunity to experience virtue. Not only are our Kashi residents present here, we are also in the company of saints and philanthropists. What could be a more pleasant coincidence than this? Right now I have got the privilege of having darshan of the most revered Shankaracharya ji, receiving prasad and blessings. It is due to his blessings that today Kashi and Purvanchal have got another modern hospital. RJ Shankar Eye Hospital in the city of Lord Shankar is dedicated to the people.

He said, RJ Shankara Eye Hospital will remove darkness from the lives of many people of Varanasi and this region, and take them towards light. This hospital will also serve the elderly and provide light to children. A large number of poor people are going to get free treatment here. This hospital has brought employment opportunities for the youth here. Kashi has been recognized as the capital of religion and culture since time immemorial. Now Kashi is also becoming famous as a big health center and healthcare hub of Uttar Pradesh and Purvanchal. I am satisfied that in the last decade, there has been unprecedented expansion of health facilities not only in Kashi but in the entire region of Purvanchal. Today more than 100 centers are working to treat meningitis in Purvanchal.

Also said, during the earlier governments, health services in Purvanchal, including Varanasi, were largely ignored. The situation was such that 10 years ago there was no treatment for meningitis at the block level in Purvanchal. Children used to die, there was an uproar in the media, but the earlier governments did not do anything. Today India's health strategy has five pillars – Preventive healthcare, i.e. prevention before the disease occurs. Timely diagnosis of disease. Free and cheap treatment, cheap medicines. Good treatment in small towns, removing the shortage of doctors. Expansion of technology in healthcare.
