Now big QR codes have been installed on the streets of Delhi, people will scan them, know the special reason behind this

Taking a step towards strengthening transparency, accountability and public participation, the Public Works Department (PWD) is going to start installing display boards with QR/bar codes on all the roads in Delhi where reconstruction work i.e. strengthening and re-carpeting of roads is being done. Through this initiative, citizens will not only get information but will also get the opportunity to give their feedback directly.

What kind of information will be available from QR code?

According to the new instructions, these display boards will be installed at bus queue shelters, major intersections and high-traffic areas within seven days of completion of any road work, so that it can reach maximum people. On scanning these QR/Bar codes, citizens will get complete information about the concerned project, which will include important information like name and length of the road, date of final strengthening, contractor/agency details, sanctioned cost.

600 kilometers of roads will be built under the new scheme

Along with this, an integrated feedback mechanism has also been added to the QR system, through which citizens will be able to send their complaints, suggestions or experiences regarding the quality of road work directly to the department. Let us tell you here that the Delhi government had announced this scheme a few months ago, work on which is now going to start. PWD has 1440 km long roads, out of which 600 km roads are to be built under the new scheme.
