The dream of connecting Kashmir with the country through rail is going to be fulfilled soon. Regarding this, the work of the last T-33 tunnel that was left on the route being built from Katra to Reasi has been completed. For the first time, a trial run of train engine and goods train was conducted from Katra to Reasi route.
Earlier, after the completion of the work of Chenab Railiva Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge, trials were held there. This trial was held from Sangladan to Reasi, in which a train was also run, but due to difficulties in the construction of T-33 tunnel, the train was not able to go from Katra to Reasi. Now its work has been completed.
What will be the route of the train?
The route of the train will be from Jammu to Katra, then from Katra to Reasi, from Reasi to Sangladan and from Sangladan to Baramulla. Presently the train goes from Sangladan (Ramban, Jammu) to Baramulla (Kashmir) and from Jammu to Katra is the last station.

Till now there is no train journey from Katra to Reasi, from Reasi to Sangladan and this journey is most important in connecting the country through Kashmir route through rail. Now, after the completion of the work of Chenab Bridge and T-33 Tunnel, soon people from all over the country will be able to enjoy the valleys of Kashmir by sitting in the train.
After the completion of T-33 tunnel work, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav tweeted, “The first electric locomotive passing through Tunnel No. 1 and Anji Khad Cable Bridge.”
