Bureau Prayagraj. For years, cancer patients have been forced to travel to Mumbai or Varanasi for treatment, huge expenses and time constraints. But now this picture is about to change. Concrete initiatives to soon provide advanced cancer detection and treatment facilities like Tata Memorial Hospital have been started at Swaroop Rani Nehru Chikitsalaya SRN.

The foundation of this change is going to be laid in the Pathology Department of MLN Medical College between 22nd to 24th January, where a national seminar and workshop will be organized. This event is not just a formal event but is being considered as a decisive step towards giving Prayagraj a new identity on the map of cancer treatment. Giving information in the Press Club, Dr. Kachnar Verma, Head of Department of Pathology, said that this workshop is being organized in collaboration with Tata Cancer Institute, Mumbai. About 20 senior cancer experts associated with Mumbai, Delhi and Varanasi centers of Tata Memorial Hospital will directly participate in it.

Along with them, experienced experts from AIIMS Delhi, Patna and other prestigious institutions of the country will also share their experiences. The focus of the workshop will not only be on treatment, but on timely accurate detection of cancer and new treatment techniques. Clinical-Pathology meeting and Tumor Board will be organized on the first day, where complex cases will be discussed in depth.

In this, pathologists, radiologists, physicians, surgeons and technical experts working in laboratories will sit on the same platform and decide the direction of treatment. Health experts believe that with this initiative, cancer patients at SRN Hospital will not only get timely diagnosis and advice, but they will also not have to migrate to big cities in future. For Prayagraj, this seminar is not just a three-day event, but is being considered as the beginning of a long and decisive fight against cancer.
