Atlas Humanoid Robot: A big and shocking moment was seen in the world of technology when Hyundai owned by Boston Dynamics introduced its humanoid robot Atlas on a public platform for the first time. Atlas’s entry during the CES Tech Showcase further intensified the race to create human-like robots among many big companies including Tesla. Got up on stage, walked and waved
In this event held in Las Vegas, as soon as Atlas was called on the stage, he got up from the floor and started walking without faltering. This life-size robot with two arms and two legs kept roaming on the stage for some time, waving towards the audience and turning its head to look as if a human was taking stock of the surroundings. During this live demo, an engineer was controlling it nearby through a remote, although the company claims that in the real world, Atlas will be able to move on its own.
Will work in the factory till 2028
Boston Dynamics has informed that a product version of Atlas is already being developed, which has been specifically designed for tasks like car assembly. The company plans to deploy this robot at Hyundai’s electric vehicle factory in Savannah, Georgia by 2028, where it will assist humans in the manufacturing process.

Boston Dynamics of Massachusetts has been working on robotics technology for the last several decades. The company got the most recognition from its dog-like robot Spot, which was its first commercial product. Hyundai’s event at CES was also started by four Spot robots, who were seen dancing together to K-pop music.
New partnership with Google DeepMind
On the same platform, Hyundai announced a new partnership with Google’s AI unit DeepMind. Under this, DeepMind’s artificial intelligence technology will be used in Boston Dynamics’ robots. It is worth noting that Google has already been the owner of Boston Dynamics.
