Ranchi: There will also be a gender column in the Record of Rights (Land Records) in Jharkhand. To ensure ownership related information in land records, the Central Government has asked Jharkhand to add this column. In this regard, Kunal Satyarthi, Joint Secretary, Land Resources Department, Union Rural Development Ministry, has written a letter to Chandrashekhar, Secretary, Revenue Registration and Land Reforms Department of Jharkhand. It has been said that by including gender column in the land records, the process of uploading the related data on the MIS portal in the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program should be started soon.

There will be severe cold in Jharkhand for the next two days, the temperature will drop by 2 degrees, the weather will be pleasant in the new year.
It has been said in the letter that currently women’s share in land ownership is limited. Due to lack of gender based data, accurate information about women land officers is not available. In view of this, the Central Government asked to add gender column in the land records, so that it can be clear in whose name the land is owned, male, female or jointly. But this process has not yet started in Jharkhand. Taking this seriously, he has been asked to take necessary steps. This will help in implementation of government schemes, identification of beneficiaries and policy making. There was also a reduction in land disputes. It is noteworthy that gender column has been added to the land records in Odisha. Work on this is going on in many states including Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
