‘Now war is not just on the border…’ said Defense Minister Rajnath Singh
Tezzbuzz Desk – Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday that today’s war is not limited only to the borders, but its scope has spread to economic, energy, digital and food security. He stressed that to keep the country safe, not only a strong army but also aware and prepared citizens are equally important.
The nature of war has changed
While virtually addressing the foundation day and diamond jubilee celebrations of Sainik School Ghorakhal located in Ghorakhal, Uttarakhand, the Defense Minister said that in modern times, the methods of war have completely changed. Now any country can be weakened through economic pressure, cyber attack, space technology and information warfare instead of direct military attack.
Emphasis on modern army and technology
He said that the government under the leadership of Narendra Modi is continuously working to equip the armed forces with modern weapons and cutting-edge technology, so that any challenge can be faced strongly.
Special message given to the youth
Rajnath Singh appealed to the youth to develop discipline, mental strength and determination. Referring to the concept of VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous), he asked the students to adopt a positive version of it –

- C: Courage
- A:Adaptability
So that they can prepare themselves better in the changing global situation.
Decision to open 100 new Sainik Schools
The Defense Minister said that the government has decided to open 100 new Sainik Schools across the country under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Along with this, work is also being done to increase the number of cadets in the National Cadet Corps.
‘Women power’ is getting a boost
He described the entry of girls in Sainik Schools as a historic step. According to him, this decision will strengthen the ‘women power’ of the country and in the times to come, these girls will lead in various fields.
Achievements of Sainik School Ghorakhal
Defense Minister congratulated all the students, teachers and alumni of Sainik School Ghorakhal on completion of 60 years. He said that till now this institute has sent more than 800 students to the National Defense Academy and more than 2000 youth to the armed forces. He expressed hope that this institute will continue to produce dedicated and capable leadership for the country in future also.
Rajnath Singh also mentioned the achievements of the school’s alumni, which include senior army officers like MK Katiyar. He said that such alumni are a source of inspiration for the current students.
