Now we have to retire and take responsibility on time… Gadkari told why change is necessary
Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, while advocating timely handing over of responsibility to the next generation, has said that when a system starts running properly, the older generation should step back. He believes that this not only brings new enthusiasm to the leadership, but also strengthens the institutions and initiatives in the long run. Gadkari said this during a press conference held in Nagpur.
On this occasion, Gadkari was discussing about Vidarbha-Khasdar Industrial Festival. The festival was conceptualized by Gadkari himself, while it was organized by Ashish Kale, President of the Association for Industrial Development (AID). Gadkari said that Ashish Kale has actively involved the young generation in initiatives like ‘Advantage Vidarbha’, which is a positive and visionary step.
Generational change said necessary
The Union Minister said in clear words that generational change is natural and necessary with time. He said, "Ashish’s father is my old friend. Now we should gradually retire and hand over the responsibilities to the new generation. When the new team starts handling the work well, the older generation should also step forward and play a more constructive role." This statement of Gadkari is being linked to leadership development and youth empowerment.
Third year of ‘Advantage Vidarbha Expo’
Gadkari, as the chief guide of AID, informed that the ‘Advantage Vidarbha Expo’ being organized in Nagpur from 6 to 8 February is the third edition of this initiative. He said that there is no dearth of talented and hardworking entrepreneurs in various fields in Vidarbha region. If given the right platform and opportunity, this sector can play a big role in industrial development.
Gadkari said that the main objective of this three-day long expo is to establish Vidarbha as a strong and emerging development center on the industrial map of India. He said that for balanced development of any region, it is necessary for industry, agriculture and allied sectors, as well as service sector to be equally strong.
There will be participation from many sectors
Participation of many important industries will be seen in ‘Advantage Vidarbha Expo’. These include sectors like textiles, plastics, minerals, coal, aviation, logistics, information technology, health services, pharmaceuticals, defence, real estate, renewable energy and startups. Gadkari expressed hope that this event will promote investment and create new employment opportunities for the local youth.
