Now you can change your Gmail ID without creating a new account, Google’s new feature will give double benefit to the users.
If you have ever wanted to change your old or strange Gmail address, now there is good news for you. Tech giant Google is soon bringing a feature through which users will be able to change their Gmail address, that too without creating a new account. This change can prove to be very useful for millions of users.
Till now, Gmail users had to create a new account to change their email address, which made it difficult to manage old data and mails. But now this problem is going to end. Sundar Pichai himself has given information about this new feature. He jokingly said that the time has come to change the old email addresses. This clearly means that users can now get rid of their old and inconvenient email name.
How to change your Gmail address?
It will be very easy to use this new feature. Users will have to go to the settings of their Google account and select the new available email address. The most important thing is that your old account and all the data in it will remain safe. This means you will not be afraid of losing any kind of information.
Even after changing your email address, your old Gmail address will not be completely lost. It will remain linked to your account and no one else will be able to use it. Apart from this, if someone sends a mail to your old address, it will also reach the same inbox. That means you will get the benefit of both the addresses. At present this facility is not available for all users. It has been started for some selected people in a phased manner. It will be released for everyone in the coming time.
A new era of AI is coming in Gmail
Apart from the feature of changing email address, Google is also making many new changes related to Artificial Intelligence in Gmail. The company has introduced a new feature called “AI Inbox”, which will understand your emails and show them on priority basis.
With the help of this feature, important emails will appear first, while less important emails will be moved to the back. Along with this, a section named “Suggested Tasks” will also be available, in which mails related to bill payment or important tasks will be highlighted. Additionally, in the “Tracking Section” you will find information related to your travel, booking or restaurant reservation in one place.
AI Inbox is currently launched only for some users in America. However, Google’s AI tool Gemini is already doing things like summarizing mail in Gmail.
