Now challan for violating traffic rules on the roads of Delhi can be paid digitally on the spot.

Now facility of payment through debit and credit cards in e-challan machines, started in five traffic circles as a pilot project.

To implement this new system smoothly, the traffic police has updated the e-challan machines. Now payment through debit card and credit card will also be accepted through these machines. This initiative has been started as a pilot project. Its main objective is to make the entire process of challan payment cashless and transparent, so that there is no scope for any kind of irregularities and the work gets expedited.

The system will be implemented first in these five major areas of Delhi, areas from Narela to Connaught Place will be included.

In the initial phase, this new system is being tested in five specific traffic circles of Delhi. The areas where this facility has been launched first include Narela, Badarpur, Karol Bagh, Hauz Khas and Connaught Place. Along with card swiping, the facility of scanning UPI QR code has also been made available in the machines of traffic policemen deployed in these areas. Due to digital payment on the spot, the possibility of corruption in the challan process will also be reduced to a great extent. The administration believes that this will increase trust and cooperation between both the police and the public.
