Now you will get freedom of choice at petrol pump! E-20 or normal petrol, government can give option

Knews Desk – In the coming time, customers may get a new option to choose fuel at petrol pumps across the country. The central government is considering the proposal to provide normal petrol along with E-20 petrol. If this scheme is implemented then vehicle owners will be able to decide according to the needs and capacity of their vehicle whether they want to buy E-20 petrol or normal petrol.

This step of the government is being taken keeping in mind the concerns of those drivers who are raising questions regarding the use of E-20 petrol. Some vehicle owners say that they have felt a slight difference in the mileage of their vehicle due to E-20 petrol. At the same time, some people have also expressed their concern regarding its use in old vehicles. E-20 petrol contains a mixture of 20 percent ethanol and 80 percent petrol. The government has been promoting ethanol blended petrol for a long time. Its objective is to reduce dependence on crude oil imports, reduce pollution and benefit farmers through ethanol production.

However, different opinions have emerged among drivers regarding E-20 petrol. Many new generation vehicles are being made compatible with the E-20, but owners of older vehicles have been raising questions about its usefulness and performance. For this reason, the government is now preparing to take suggestions from all parties. According to the information, even before the implementation of E-20 petrol, there was a discussion on maintaining the option of normal petrol. However, at that time the oil marketing companies were not ready to implement this system. Now this proposal is being reconsidered in view of customer feedback and changing circumstances.

If the government approves this scheme, then customers at petrol pumps can get the facility to choose the fuel as per their choice. The biggest challenge of providing both types of petrol will be to make additional arrangements at petrol pumps. This may require different fuel dispensers and storage systems. Due to this, petrol pump operators may have to make additional investments. Apart from this, fixing the prices of E-20 and normal petrol will also be a big challenge. Due to the different cost of both the fuels, the government and oil companies will have to make a detailed plan to determine their prices.

At present, E-20 petrol is being made available at most of the petrol pumps in the country. Apart from this, some oil companies also sell their premium fuel brands, but a separate option of normal petrol is not yet available in most places. Oil companies are currently selling E-20 petrol with limited margins. There is a possibility of change in prices in the coming time. According to some reports, the price of E-20 petrol may be lower than normal petrol when conditions become normal.

If this proposal of the government is implemented then vehicle owners will have the freedom to choose the fuel according to their needs. This can especially provide relief to those people who want to give preference to normal petrol for their old vehicles or special circumstances. However, the final decision will be taken only after discussion with the government, oil companies and concerned experts. At present this proposal is under consideration and in the coming time a new arrangement regarding fuel options may be seen at petrol pumps.
