In this claim, former RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has been mentioned and said that RBI has issued a new guideline, under which if a person has two bank accounts, then heavy fine will be imposed on him.

How many accounts can I open?
There is no limit on the number of bank accounts a person can have in India. That means there is no limit on the number of bank accounts a person can open in India. You can open as many bank accounts as you want and need. RBI has not set any limit for this. However, the more bank accounts you open, the more you'll have to take care of all of them. That means you have to keep a fixed amount in them. If you do not do this, it may affect your CIBIL score.
