'NPP' withdraws support from government; Congress MLA preparing to resign

During this violence, protesters attacked the houses of ten MLAs and set fire to the houses of four MLAs. The houses of three BJP MLAs and one Congress MLA were damaged in the fire.

Sources said that the Home Minister held a meeting with the concerned officials to review the situation in the north-eastern state.

Curfew, internet service closed in many districts

  • To maintain security, the administration has imposed indefinite curfew in Imphal East and West, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching districts.
  • Following the attack on the houses of ministers and MLAs, the administration has temporarily suspended internet services in seven districts.
