Digital business and IT services firm NTT Data on Wednesday announced its final agreement to acquire Karnataka-based cloud engineering company Nives Solutions, which specializes in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. This strategic acquisition is set to accelerate NTT DATA's cloud capabilities to meet the growing global demand for cloud solutions across various industries. The move will also strengthen NTT DATA's position as a leading global systems integrator for Google Cloud. The companies did not disclose the value of the transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalized within the next 30-60 days.
Once the deal closes, Nives Solutions will bring 1,000 GCP engineering professionals to NTT DATA, increasing the company's expertise in GCP core modernization, data engineering and AI. The addition will strengthen NTT DATA's Google Cloud business unit and its ability to deliver specialized cloud platform solutions to the financial services, manufacturing, automotive, retail and logistics sectors. “With the acquisition of Knives Solutions, we will strengthen our position as the leading powerhouse of Google Cloud,” said Charlie Lee, head of cloud and security services at NTT DATA Inc. “With Nives solutions, we are poised to redefine possibilities in the AI-powered cloud era, enabling clients to accelerate digital transformations and drive meaningful business outcomes across industries and geographies.”
NTT DATA has a strong history of acquisitions to drive synergy. Over the past few years, it has acquired more than 90 companies globally. Earlier this year, NTT Data acquired a majority stake in Hyderabad-based firm Proventech Pvt Ltd, which specializes in GenAI-powered quality management and manufacturing solutions for the pharma, healthcare and food industries. In October, NTT Data announced an agreement to acquire Aoop, a leading ServiceNow implementation company in Brazil. Last year, the company acquired Sapphire, a UK-based provider of digital operations software and services. The acquisition of Nives will build on NTT DATA's recently expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud, focused on co-innovation of data analytics and GenAI solutions for enterprise clients. The collaboration aims to provide cloud-based data and AI solutions tailored to industry-specific needs.
